For over a decade, Headhunterz has been symbiotically connected to the hardstyle genre. With over 150 releases under his belt, the creation of the most popular hardstyle podcast — HARD WITH STYLE — to his name, and countless legendary performances on the biggest stages in dance music, Headhunterz is undisputedly the biggest act in the history of hardstyle.
Headhunterz was the first international superstar of our beloved genre. He has produced iconic anthems for DEFQON.1, QLIMAX and HARD BASS, performed countless times on the most prestigious stages in dance music, and is a part of the most exclusive live act in his genre — Project One. Without his drive, creativity and bravery, hardstyle as we know it today would be a completely different entity. His popularity is evident in his permanent residency within the DJ MAG TOP 100 – Headhunterz has never exited this illustrious list since entering it in 2010.
In 2014, Headhunterz made a drastic change in his career. He left the hardstyle scene and started making house music instead. As a house DJ, he performed on main stages worldwide and produced major hits with big EDM names such as Steve Aoki, W&W and R3hab.
However, at Defqon.1 2016, the global hardstyle community was treated to a shocking surprise. During the Legends Show at the festival, Headhunterz returned for a special performance. Following this, at Qlimax 2016, 25,000 people saw a legendary Project One show. This was the exact moment when Headhunterz made the final decision to come back to hardstyle.
Defqon.1 2017 marked the point when Headhunterz found his way home. After learning from his experiences outside of the genre, he came to the realization that Hardstyle is where he belongs. His first solo show since his return (the first and only event hosted by a hardstyle act at the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam) was sold out in under 30 minutes.
